The Daniel Defense MK18 is a short barreled rifle built around the 10.3 inch configuration that USSOCOM adopted for close quarters work, and it carries the same RIS II quad rail Daniel Defense supplies to that contract. The cold hammer forged barrel wears a government profile with a carbine length gas system, a pairing that keeps the short gas port fed reliably across a range of ammunition. It suits shooters who want a compact, NFA registered carbine for home defense, truck duty, or training in tight spaces.
Picatinny real estate runs the full length of the top rail and all four sides of the handguard, so lights, lasers, optics, and sling hardware mount wherever they make sense. The GRIP-N-RIP charging handle works independently from either side, and the Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip round out the rifle with the company's own furniture rather than mil-spec parts. It ships in a Daniel Defense full-latch impact case with a DD magazine.
