Description

This Pre-Owned Century Arms VZ2008 Sporter is a semi-automatic 7.62x39mm rifle built on the Czech vz. 58 pattern, assembled in the United States with a machined receiver and U.S.-made barrel mated to surplus Czech parts. The vz. 58 design is often mistaken for an AK, but it runs a different tilting locking piece and feeds from its own proprietary magazines, so AK-47 magazines will not fit. Shooters drawn to Cold War era Eastern Bloc rifles will recognize the lighter weight and quicker handling that set this platform apart from a stamped AK.

This example wears Bakelite furniture and the side-folding wire stock, which collapses the overall length for storage and transport. It shows honest handling wear consistent with use, with the finish and furniture intact. A canvas sling is included. No magazine comes with this rifle.

Century Arms VZ2008 Sporter Features

  • Milled receiver construction gives the rifle a rigid foundation and the solid feel associated with machined, rather than stamped, builds
  • vz. 58 pattern gas-operated action with a tilting locking piece, a design that runs lighter and cycles differently than an AK-pattern rifle
  • Side-folding wire stock shortens the rifle for transport and storage while keeping the gun ready to shoot
  • Bakelite furniture that carries the look and feel of period Eastern Bloc service rifles
  • Adjustable rear sight graduated in 100 meter increments paired with a post front sight for practical field zeroing
  • 16 inch barrel chambered in 7.62x39mm, a widely available and affordable cartridge for range work
