Description
The Sig Sauer MPX SBR is a 9mm short-barreled rifle built on Sig's pistol-caliber platform, running a short-stroke gas piston and closed rotating bolt borrowed from the MCX rather than the direct blowback system common to most PCCs. That operating system keeps gas and fouling out of the receiver and softens the recoil impulse, which shows up as a flatter shooting gun at speed. The 4.5-inch barrel paired with Sig's minimalist folding stock gives it a genuinely compact footprint for home defense, vehicle storage, or range work where length matters.
This configuration ships as an NFA-regulated Short-Barreled Rifle. Controls are fully ambidextrous, the handguard is aluminum M-LOK, and the upper wears a full-length Picatinny rail for whatever optic and backup sights you prefer. One 35-round polymer magazine is included.
Sig Sauer MPX SBR Features
- Short-stroke gas piston operation with a closed rotating bolt, keeping the action cleaner and the recoil impulse flatter than blowback pistol-caliber designs
- SIG minimalist folding stock that collapses the overall length for storage and transport while still giving a solid cheek weld and shoulder index
- Timney single-stage trigger, a noticeable upgrade in break and reset over a standard mil-spec unit
- Aluminum M-LOK handguard for direct attachment of lights, hand stops, and sling hardware without adapter rails
- Ambidextrous safety selector and controls, usable from either shoulder without modification
- Full-length Picatinny top rail that accepts red dots, magnifiers, or LPVOs along with folding backup sights
