Description
The Faxon ARAK-21 XRS is a complete semi-automatic rifle built around Faxon's gas piston upper receiver, configured here as a short-barreled rifle with a 12.5-inch barrel assembly in 7.62x39mm. The upper mates to an AR-15 style lower using nothing more than the pivot and takedown pins, while the XRS lower that comes with the system is machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum with flared cuts and a squared rear hoop sized specifically for the ARAK upper. Shooters who want AK-caliber performance with AR-15 controls and trigger compatibility are the natural audience.
Faxon's barrel assembly unit packages the barrel, gas block, muzzle brake, piston, gas adjuster, and trunnion into one serviceable group, so caliber and barrel changes happen at the front of the gun rather than through a full rebuild. The dual recoil spring system lives entirely inside the upper, leaving the stock interface free for folding options and removing the sound and feel of a buffer cycling in a receiver extension. It ships with a Magpul SL stock, MOE grip, ambidextrous safety selector, one magazine, BAU removal tools, and the owner's manual.
