Overview
The Microtech LUDT GEN III is a 3.45" automatic folding knife built for everyday carry and precision cutting. This Gen III version refines the original Underwater Demolition Team design with upgraded steel, smoother action, and enhanced traction. Designed by Tony Marfione and made in the USA.
Performance & Design
The blade is crafted from Bohler M390MK stainless steel with a flat grind and reinforced tanto tip for strength and edge retention. Its crowned spine, jimped thumb ramp, and full-length blood groove improve penetration and control. The pivot runs on 24 silica carbide bearings for consistently smooth deployment.
Ergonomics & Handling
The machined aluminum handle features Bazooka camo finish and 3M Traction Tape inserts for a secure, confident grip. A button lock mechanism ensures fast, reliable operation and tight lockup. Torx screw construction and a lanyard hole offer added serviceability and retention options.
Deployment & Locking System
Automatic button deployment delivers rapid, precise blade action. The button lock design ensures stability during heavy use while maintaining one-handed ease of operation.
