Overview
The Rearden FHD 5/8x24 Square Nitride is a precision-machined tapered muzzle device finished in black nitride for a tight, durable seal with suppressor mounts. This square-rear variant adds larger, squared wrench flats for positive engagement during installation and easier timing on the bench. Lightweight and compact, the FHD Square is engineered for reliable alignment and repeatable mounting with Plan B-style systems. Performance & Design
Engineered to tight tolerances, the FHD Square offers minimal weight (1.69 oz) and short overall length (1.723") while maintaining a robust contact surface for Plan B and tapered mounting systems. The nitride surface increases sealing friction for an improved interface with mating mounts; proper torquing and Rockset procedures are critical for consistent alignment and performance. The square rear wrench flats provide improved purchase for torque wrenches and hand tools.

Mounting & Installation

  • Thread Pattern: 5/8-24.

  • Use an alignment rod to ensure concentricity of the muzzle device, mount, and suppressor during installation.

  • Clean all contact surfaces before assembly.

  • Torque the muzzle device to approximately 15–25 ft·lb and ensure the shoulder is seated squarely.

  • When installing the suppressor onto the muzzle device, torque to ~10 ft·lb, then perform a Rockset and recheck alignment.

  • Note: Some barrels require shims if the manufacturer did not provide a thread relief; shims are not included. Always verify mount compatibility with your suppressor system prior to use.
