Description
The Snakestaff Systems ETQ GEN2 is a compact windlass tourniquet built around a 1.5 inch band, designed to carry in places a full size TQ simply will not fit. The Gen 2 keeps the small footprint that made the original popular and adds three patent pending changes aimed at making application faster and more forgiving under stress. Pocket carry, range bags, vehicle kits, duty belts, and IFAKs are all reasonable homes for it.
It suits shooters building a trauma kit that actually gets carried, along with EMS, law enforcement, and outdoor users who need bleeding control gear within arm's reach. Manufactured in the USA. Finished in black.
Snakestaff Systems ETQ GEN2 Features
- The curved Power Curve slot spreads band tension toward the center of the strap instead of loading the edges, which helps avoid the uneven pressure a straight slot can create during prolonged application.
- A Tri-Grip windlass with three flat surfaces per side gives fingers real purchase when hands are bloody, without the aggressive texturing that can tear nitrile gloves.
- The steel Power Ring beneath the windlass creates clearance over the carabiner and adds mechanical advantage for those first hard turns.
- High strength polymer composite windlass construction holds up to the torque required for a full application.
- A longer body with revised routing keeps the tourniquet laying straighter during application, and the enlarged carabiner lock interior makes stowing the windlass easier after multiple turns.
- Webbing backed band material resists folding and sticking to itself, which makes threading the band around a limb one handed far less of a fight.
