Overview
The JP Enterprises Silent Captured Spring (SCS) Gen-2 H2 kit replaces the traditional AR buffer assembly with a captured-spring system tuned for heavier H2 buffering. It delivers far quieter, smoother carrier operation and improved bolt timing in suppressed, SBR, and heavy-buffer applications. Performance & Design
The SCS captures the recoil spring inside a precision assembly that eliminates the exposed buffer spring noise and drastically reduces carrier tilt and friction. The Gen-2 H2 variant is optimized for heavier buffering needs—improving reliability and timing for suppressed weapons, short-barreled rifles, and builds that benefit from an H2 mass. JP’s centerless-ground, polished springs and LMOS™ buffer geometry produce exceptionally smooth cycling and sound abatement versus standard buffer systems.
Ergonomics & Controls
Because the SCS removes the exposed buffer spring, it preserves the compact footprint of folding adapter setups and prevents spring snagging. The captured design maintains consistent bolt carrier travel and positive lockup while preserving normal AR controls and takedown/pivot functionality.
Sights & Optics
Not applicable for the SCS itself. Reduced carrier movement and smoother cycling can benefit optic harmonics on precision builds.

Compatibility & Use Notes

Recommended: .223/5.56, .300 BLK (supersonic or suppressed/subsonic depending on model), 6.5 Grendel or larger with proper carrier/gas adjustments when using the H2 variant.

Use cases: SBRs, suppressed builds, rifles recommended to use H2/H3 buffers, select-fire, and some piston systems.

JP models have specific guidance by platform—confirm JPSCS2-15H2 is appropriate for your build and intended ammo/bolt-carrier mass.

Not recommended for lightweight operating systems, low-mass carriers, or blowback 9mm AR variants.
