The Comstock Armory Recessed Brake 5/8X24 is a threaded muzzle brake built for barrels cut to the 5/8x24 pattern, the standard thread on most .30 caliber rifles and a common choice on larger bore AR builds. The recessed body seats back over the barrel shoulder rather than sitting entirely forward of it, which keeps the device tight to the muzzle and holds overall added length down.
Shooters running a brake want the gas working for them instead of against them, and that is the job here. Port geometry redirects escaping gas outward to push back against recoil and keep the muzzle flat through strings of fire, which shortens the time it takes to settle the sights between shots. It fits rifle builds where a short, concentric muzzle device is preferred over a long, bulky one.
