Description
The CAT AKB Akbar is a .30 caliber rifle suppressor built as a true generalist rather than a host-specific design. Despite the name, it is not an AK or 7.62x39 dedicated can. CAT built it to cover the broad middle of the .30 caliber world, running on direct impingement and piston gas guns, bolt actions, and modern semi-auto rifles without being tuned so tightly to one platform that it suffers everywhere else. The internal architecture is engineered to handle the heavier gas loads that come with short barreled rifles while keeping back pressure predictable on precision and long range setups.
This is the Inconel version, finished in black PVD, which trades some weight for durability and lower barrel length thresholds compared to the titanium build. Rated to .300 Winchester Magnum and compatible with common chamberings such as 308 Winchester, 7.62 NATO, 300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 5.56 NATO, it suits shooters who want one suppressor moving between several rifles. The 1.375x24 HUB thread opens it to the full range of industry standard mounts, though no mount is included.
