HORNADY OUTFITTER .308 WINCHESTER AMMO is engineered for demanding hunting environments where durability and terminal consistency are critical. Designed around Hornady’s GMX monolithic projectile, this load emphasizes deep penetration and high weight retention across a wide range of impact velocities. It is built to perform reliably from remote backcountry conditions to wet or variable climates.
The 165 grain GMX bullet is constructed from a copper alloy and delivers controlled expansion with approximately 95 percent weight retention. Its monolithic design supports uniform penetration while maintaining structural integrity through the wound channel. Nickel-plated brass cases enhance corrosion resistance and promote smooth feeding and extraction. Sealed primers and case mouths provide additional moisture protection for use in harsh weather conditions. This load is California compatible and approved for areas requiring non-traditional, lead-free projectiles. The ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, and boxer primed with reloadable nickel-plated brass cases.
