This Pre-Owned LMT Mars-LS Shovelnose 12" Pistol is a piston-driven 5.56 NATO AR pistol built around Lewis Machine & Tool's monolithic upper receiver, the design that gives the Shovelnose profile its distinctive squared front end. The 12-inch barrel keeps the package short without pushing into the extreme velocity loss of the shortest AR barrels, which suits shooters who want a compact 5.56 platform for truck duty, home defense, or suppressed range work.
This example wears a Knight's Armament 5.56 QDC MAMS brake on a 1/2x28 muzzle, so it is already set up for a compatible KAC quick-detach suppressor. A Maxim Defense brace is fitted at the rear, and one 30-round magazine is included. The rifle shows normal handling wear consistent with use.

- Short-stroke piston operating system that keeps gas and fouling out of the receiver and runs more consistently with a suppressor attached
- Monolithic upper with the Shovelnose front profile, giving the barrel a rigid mounting platform and a continuous top rail for optics and backup sights
- M-LOK handguard slots along the sides and bottom for lights, sling hardware, and hand stops without adding rail weight you do not need
- Two-stage trigger that breaks more predictably than a standard mil-spec unit for precise shots at distance
- Chromoly 12-inch barrel threaded 1/2x28 and fitted with a Knight's Armament 5.56 QDC MAMS brake, which doubles as a mount for compatible KAC suppressors
