Description
TAURUS TX22 TORO GEN 2 Features
TAURUS TX22 TORO is a rimfire pistol built for training, target work, and high-volume range use with the handling and control layout of a modern defensive handgun. It uses a striker-fired system and a lightweight polymer-frame design to keep recoil soft, operation familiar, and long shooting sessions comfortable. The overall concept is straightforward: give shooters a .22 LR pistol that is easy to run, easy to equip, and well suited for both skill-building and casual range time. Its optics-ready and threaded configuration adds flexibility that makes it more useful than a basic rimfire handgun.
The design combines a light overall carry weight with features that support faster sight acquisition and broader setup options. Taurus machines the slide for its TORO optics-ready system, allowing direct red-dot use without turning the pistol into a specialized build. The threaded barrel expands the pistol’s role for shooters who want suppressor compatibility or a ready-to-configure host for range applications. Adjustable iron sights with a white-dot front and serrated rear provide a practical sight picture on their own, while the optics-ready slide gives users room to move into a red-dot setup later. The polymer frame keeps the pistol easy to handle across a wide range of experience levels, and the grip dimensions help it fit newer shooters without feeling undersized to more experienced ones. Magazine changes are simple, controls are familiar, and the trigger geometry supports clean repetition during drills, steel shooting, and general practice. Altogether, this is a versatile rimfire pistol built to mirror centerfire handling while keeping cost, recoil, and fatigue low.
