The Tailored Arms Torch Tactical is a hand-built, all-steel double-stack 1911 chambered in 9mm, built around a V6-ported bull barrel and a slide cut to accept a red dot directly. Slide and frame are machined from heat-treated 4140 chromoly steel and finished in black DLC, with the ambidextrous controls machined into the frame itself rather than bolted on. Every pistol is fit and finished by hand as a single unit.
This is a shooter's gun first. Porting, a lightened slide, a competition magwell, and integrated thumb rests all point toward competition use and fast, repeatable strings, though the light rail, strike face, and tritium front sight keep it viable for serious defensive work. Shooters coming from a standard single-stack 1911 will recognize the trigger and manual of arms while picking up double-stack capacity.
Tailored Arms Torch Tactical Features
- 5" V6-ported bull barrel with two additional inline vertical ports through the top of the slide, venting gas upward to hold the muzzle flat through recoil
- Deep optic pocket cut directly into the slide for Trijicon RMR and SRO footprints, capturing the optic body on all sides and seating it lower than an adapter plate allows
- Internally lightened slide that cuts reciprocating mass for quicker cycling, with the largest relief sitting behind the optic pocket
- Patented ambidextrous Gas Petal thumb rests machined into the steel of the frame, so they cannot loosen or shift under recoil
- Flat-faced Miller Trigger with a port through the frame for pre-travel and over-travel adjustment, paired with a custom Miller Grip cut in a deep, aggressive texture
- Competition magwell, ambidextrous thumb safety, and a frame-mounted accessory rail with a squared, reinforced strike face at the muzzle
