Description
This Pre-Owned Smith & Wesson Model 17 is the medium K-frame rimfire revolver better known as the K-22 Masterpiece, built around the same frame size and sight setup S&W used for its centerfire target guns. Chambered in 22 LR with a six-shot cylinder and a 4 inch barrel, it was made for the shooter who wanted centerfire trigger feel and grip geometry at rimfire cost, whether that meant bullseye practice, small game, or a long afternoon on steel plates.
The blued carbon steel construction and adjustable target sights are what carried this model's reputation for decades of range use. This example wears wood grips and is offered in Pre-Owned condition.
Smith & Wesson Model 17 Features
- K-frame size and weight give the rimfire gun the heft and balance of a centerfire service revolver, which steadies the sight picture and makes recoil essentially a non-issue.
- Double-action/single-action lockwork lets you run a light, deliberate single-action press for precision work or stage double-action strings for practice that carries over to larger revolvers.
- Adjustable rear sight paired with a pinned Patridge style front blade allows zeroing across different 22 LR loads and delivers a flat, square sight picture for target work.
- Carbon steel frame, cylinder, and barrel in a blued finish keep the classic Masterpiece look while contributing the mass that makes the gun hang steady offhand.
- Six-round swing-out cylinder with a full-length ejector stroke keeps loading and unloading quick between strings.
- Wood grips fill the hand on the square-butt frame and give a consistent purchase for two-handed target shooting.
