This Pre-Owned Sig Sauer P6 is a single-stack 9mm service pistol built by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Germany as the police-issue version of the P225. West German federal police and border guard units adopted it around 1978 to 1980, specifying a heavier mainspring and a firmer double-action pull than the commercial gun carried. Thousands of those pistols later came to the United States as surplus trade-ins, which is how most shooters encounter the model today.
The compact frame, slim grip, and alloy construction make it an easy pistol to carry and a comfortable one to shoot, and the DA/SA trigger with decocker remains a straightforward manual of arms for anyone used to traditional double-action guns.
