This Pre-Owned Savage Arms A17 Heavy Barrel is a 17 HMR rimfire rifle built around a delayed-blowback action engineered specifically for the pressures the 17 HMR generates. Savage built the A17 line as a purpose-designed semi-automatic for the cartridge rather than an adaptation of a 22 LR platform, and the Heavy Barrel version adds a thicker 22-inch tube that holds its point of impact through longer strings of shooting. It suits varmint and predator shooters, prairie dog trips, and anyone who wants fast follow-ups on small targets at distance.
