MARLIN 1895 GUIDE GUN BIG LOOP is a modern reintroduction of the classic Guide Gun platform, built under Ruger’s stewardship with updated manufacturing precision and traditional lever-action function. Chambered in 45-70 Government, it maintains the compact, hard-hitting profile that made the Guide Gun series popular for hunting and backcountry applications. The oversized Big Loop lever enhances operation with gloved hands while preserving the smooth cycling characteristics expected from the 1895 action.
The receiver, lever, and trigger guard plate are CNC machined from alloy steel forgings, providing structural strength and consistent tolerances. A cold hammer-forged alloy steel barrel promotes precise rifling geometry and long service life, while the threaded muzzle with factory-installed protector allows attachment of compatible muzzle devices. The polished bolt contributes to fluid cycling, and the six-round tubular magazine feeds through a traditional receiver-mounted loading gate. Adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights paired with a brass bead front sight support rapid target acquisition. The brown laminate stock and forend offer dimensional stability across varying weather conditions, complemented by sharp checkering for secure handling. A soft rubber recoil pad aids in recoil absorption, while a push-button cross-bolt safety and traditional half-cock hammer provide layered safety features. Sling swivel studs and an offset hammer spur are included to enhance field usability.
