The Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp is a double stack 9mm 1911-pattern pistol built around a compensator that is machined directly into the slide and barrel rather than hung off the muzzle. The 4.25-inch Pro length keeps the overall package at 7.89 inches while the stainless frame and slide bring the weight to 40.9 ounces with an empty magazine, a combination that settles the gun down between shots. Competition shooters working USPSA Carry Optics style divisions and anyone who wants a high capacity 9mm with minimal muzzle movement are the intended audience.
Kimber assembles these individually, and the details show it: a GT match grade trigger breaking in the 3 to 4 pound range, a fluted and ramped stainless barrel with 5R rifling, and a Stan Chen magwell paired with the tapered frame opening for fast reloads.
