This Pre-Owned Hi-Standard Model B is a .22 LR rimfire semi-automatic pistol from the New Haven maker's pre-war letter series, the line that established High Standard as a serious name in rimfire handguns. Introduced in 1932, the Model B pairs a fixed, lightly tapered barrel with a compact blowback action and a grip angle familiar to anyone who has handled a 1911. The long-barrel configuration stretches the sight radius, which suits slow-fire bullseye practice, small game work, and unhurried range plinking.
This example carries the frame rollmark reading PATENTED over .22 CAL. LONG RIFLE, placing it in the later pre-war production block rather than the earliest patent-pending frames, and it uses the lever takedown arrangement on the left rear of the frame. The factory hard rubber panels have been replaced with custom walnut target grips that flare below the frame for a fuller, more supported hold. One 10-round magazine is included.
