This Pre-Owned Colt Anaconda is a double-action/single-action .44 Magnum revolver built on Colt's large MM frame, here in the 5-inch barrel configuration. Colt brought the Anaconda out in 1990 as its answer to the big-bore stainless revolvers from Ruger and Smith & Wesson, cataloging 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch guns. The 5-inch length was never a standard catalog item and was produced in very small numbers, which puts this one in collector territory as much as working-revolver territory.
The barrel length splits the difference between the handling of the 4-inch gun and the sight radius and weight of the 6-inch, which suits hunting, field carry, and heavy-recoil range work in equal measure. This example is a used revolver and comes with its original case.
