The Icarus Precision 1911 Double Stack Grip + Mainspring is a machined aluminum grip module and matching mainspring housing built for double-stack 1911 and 2011-pattern frames. It replaces the factory grip on a compatible host with a one-piece billet unit, changing both the texture and the feel of the pistol in the hand. Competition shooters chasing a more aggressive hold and builders assembling a custom double-stack gun are the usual audience.
This is a grip module and mainspring housing set only. Slide, barrel, fire control parts, magwell, and the stripped frame are not included, and the module itself is not a serialized component. Fitment varies across double-stack 1911 and 2011 platforms, so confirm the module against your specific frame generation, magazine release, and magwell setup before building.
Icarus Precision 1911 Double Stack Grip + Mainspring Features
- CNC-machined from a single billet of 7075 aluminum, giving the grip rigidity and consistent dimensions that polymer modules do not hold under hard use
- Proprietary 360 degree texture pattern cut across every contact surface, so the hand finds purchase on the front strap, side panels, and under the trigger guard alike
- Matching mainspring housing included and finished to the same spec, keeping the rear of the grip visually and tactilely uniform
- Black anodized finish that resists wear from holster draws and sweat exposure
- Designed around Gen 1 double-stack 1911 geometry, which means it works with a Gen 1 style magazine release and TTI or similar magwells
- Compatible host platforms include Gen 1 STI and SVI-pattern frames, with reported fitment on TTI Viper, Staccato 2011, Nighthawk, and Prodigy builds
