This Pre-Owned Smith & Wesson 627-5 is a Performance Center N-frame revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, built in the short-barreled 2.625" configuration with an eight-round unfluted cylinder. The 627 line started in 1989 as a six-shot stainless N-frame, and the Performance Center later stretched the cylinder to eight rounds. The dash-5 variant arrived in 2002. Where the 5" version leans toward range and competition work, this snub configuration puts full N-frame mass and eight rounds of .357 into a package intended for close-range defensive carry and duty use.
Shooters who want a large-frame revolver that soaks up recoil while still carrying under a jacket are the natural audience here. The all-stainless build and Performance Center action work make it a serious wheelgun rather than a novelty short-barrel. This example comes with two sets of wood grips and the original box.
